Assistant Nutrition Officer at Hope Spring Community Humanitarian Initiative – Borno

Hope Spring Community Humanitarian Initiative is recruiting an Assistant Nutrition Officer in Borno State to support dietary assessments, patient counselling and safe nutrition-service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and record patients’ dietary histories, preferences, allergies and restrictions.
• Assist dietitians and nutritionists with meal planning, menus and prescribed diets.
• Take basic nutrition measurements, monitor food intake and report assessment results.
• Work with food-service personnel to ensure correct and timely meal distribution.
• Explain dietary changes, portion control, healthy eating and food preparation to patients and families.
• Recognise possible malnutrition, allergic reactions and poor adherence, and raise concerns with the appropriate staff.
• Maintain patient records, nutrition supplies, educational materials and hygiene and food safety standards.
• Support maternal and child nutrition programmes and similar services, including eligibility checks, anthropometry, haemoglobin testing and basic counselling where applicable.
