Drilling Project OI Advisor II at ABNL Limited – Port Harcourt, Rivers

ABNL Limited is recruiting a contract Engineering – Drilling Project OI Advisor II in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The adviser supports drilling project teams and offshore installation activities on safety, security, health and environmental matters.

Drilling project SSHE coordination

• Represent company SSHE requirements at rig sites, project locations, rig moves and transport operations.
• Communicate safety initiatives and concerns among the drilling team, contractors and operational leadership.
• Prepare and maintain site inductions, operating safety plans, stewardship plans, emergency response plans and safety leadership forums.
• Review contractors’ SSHE procedures and performance against drilling safety requirements and advise relevant operations managers.
• Undertake OI system compliance audits, site inspections, rig checks and SSHE assessments.
• Help project teams respond to incidents, prepare reports, investigate causes and introduce preventive measures.
• Maintain and deliver safety training for contractor crews, facilitate steering committees and attend team safety meetings.
• Identify recurring risk trends, highlight non-conformances and support injury prevention and recognition programmes.

Qualifications and skills

• Advanced working knowledge of drilling activities, processes and safety regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or previous experience in a closely related role.
• Sound organisational judgement, technical communication, teamwork and strong stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work independently under demanding schedules and changing priorities.
• Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Fluent technical and business English and ability to work across cultures.
• Proven commitment to SSHE outcomes and professional ethics.
• Fitness for offshore or remote onshore drilling work, including ladders, stairs, uneven terrain and demanding environmental conditions.
