Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Specialist at Thyaura Partners Concept Limited – Abuja

Thyaura Partners Concept Limited is recruiting a Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Specialist in Abuja to install, test, maintain and repair building fire detection and protection systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and fire suppression systems in buildings and facilities.
• Install and maintain fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, and other fire detection and notification devices.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot fire suppression systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, hydrants, hose reels, and gaseous or other specialised suppression systems.
• Diagnose system faults, investigate alarms, and carry out corrective maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, functional testing, and system inspections in accordance with approved procedures and applicable fire safety standards.
• Test fire alarm interfaces with other building systems, including BMS, HVAC, access control, and emergency shutdown systems, where applicable.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and other portable firefighting equipment, and coordinate servicing or replacement when required.
• Check suppression system cylinders, valves, pipework, pressure gauges, nozzles, and associated components for damage, leakage, corrosion, or abnormal conditions.
• Carry out system testing and commissioning after installation, repairs, or modifications, and document the results.
• Respond promptly to fire system faults, alarms, and maintenance requests, and escalate critical defects immediately.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, maintenance, faults, repairs, and equipment servicing.
• Ensure fire alarm and suppression systems remain operational and that identified defects are reported and addressed promptly.
• Coordinate with other technicians, engineers, contractors, and facility management personnel during installation, maintenance, and testing activities.
• Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely, following approved procedures and applicable fire safety requirements.
• Follow appropriate isolation, impairment notification, and reinstatement procedures when systems require maintenance or testing.
• Ensure fire protection equipment and work areas are kept clean, accessible, and free from obstruction.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and report recurring faults or required upgrades to the supervisor.
• Provide technical guidance to facility personnel on system operation, routine checks, and appropriate response to system faults.
• Perform other fire alarm, fire suppression, and fire safety maintenance duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Salary

N300,000 – N400,000 per month.
