Government Affairs Manager, Nigeria at Zipline – Abuja

Zipline is hiring a Government Affairs Manager in Abuja to lead government engagement strategy in Nigeria and coordinate public-sector relationships supporting its medical delivery operations and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop federal, state and local government engagement plans, mapping decision-makers, responsibilities and policy priorities.
• Build lasting relationships with ministries, agencies, legislatures, public health bodies and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate approval pathways for market entry and expansion, keeping dependencies, owners and next steps clear.
• Monitor public-policy changes, government funding, procurement and relevant regulatory developments, and advise leadership on risks and opportunities.
• Prepare executive briefings, meeting objectives, talking points and follow-up commitments.
• Work with Commercial, Legal, Finance, Security and Operations colleagues to resolve institutional barriers and progress agreements.
• Coordinate governor-level meetings, state approvals, contract milestones and federal partnership updates.
• Maintain stakeholder trackers, analyse engagement outcomes and uphold high ethical standards in public-facing activities.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Communications or a related area, or equivalent professional experience.
• Substantial experience in government affairs, public policy or public-sector partnerships in Nigeria.
• Established relationships and credibility with senior government decision-makers at federal and state levels.
• Understanding of Nigeria’s political institutions, public health systems, government budgeting, procurement and approvals.
• Excellent policy analysis, negotiation, written briefing and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel within Nigeria; Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo proficiency is advantageous.
