Head, People and Culture at Unified Payment Services Limited – Lagos

Unified Payment Services Limited is recruiting a full-time Head, People and Culture in Lagos. The position sets and delivers the organisation’s people strategy through talent acquisition, organisational development, employee engagement, performance management and accountable HR governance.

People strategy, recruitment and talent

• Design talent acquisition and workforce plans to fill current and future staffing needs, build critical talent pipelines and improve hiring quality, cost and speed.
• Build programmes to strengthen employee engagement, employee experience, organisational values, inclusion, wellness and recognition.
• Develop retention, succession planning, career mobility and talent development initiatives that sustain staffing for critical roles.
• Support managers with mentorship, training, professional development, employee motivation and performance coaching.

Performance, reward and employee relations

• Lead an effective performance management process that aligns employee goals with corporate objectives and improves reviews, productivity and accountability.
• Oversee remuneration structures, annual salary reviews, incentives, benefits, pay equity and reward governance.
• Maintain constructive employee relations, handle grievances and disciplinary matters fairly, resolve conflicts and support employee well-being.
• Promote collaborative communication and a positive workplace culture across business units.

Organisation, analytics and compliance

• Lead organisational development, restructuring, change management, workforce optimisation and improvements to HR policies and operating processes.
• Develop HR dashboards and scorecards, monitor productivity and workforce indicators, and provide actionable people analytics for leadership decisions.
• Ensure HR operations comply with labour laws, statutory obligations, company policies and internal control requirements.
• Advise business leaders on workforce decisions, organisation-wide transformation and practical people initiatives that support business priorities.
• Manage HR risk, audit readiness and service standards.

Key performance measures

• Employee engagement and satisfaction; voluntary turnover; quality of hire and time-to-fill for critical positions.
• Retention of high performers; succession coverage; performance review completion and goal achievement.
• Workforce productivity; compensation competitiveness; HR compliance and audit performance.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
• Master’s degree in a relevant HR or business field is an advantage.
• Professional HR qualification such as CIPM, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, HRCI, CIPD or an equivalent certification.
• At least ten years’ progressive HR experience, including a minimum of five years in senior HR leadership.
• Proven success in talent management, engagement, organisational development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and HR strategy.
• Strong experience applying people analytics and workforce data to management decisions.
• Strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, communication, influence, business judgement, emotional intelligence and problem-solving.
