Reservoir Engineer / Advisor III at Seplat – Lagos (via Scruples Resources)

An oil and gas reservoir engineering assignment in Lagos is recruiting a senior Reservoir Engineer / Advisor III through Scruples Resources Limited. The role focuses on field development, reservoir simulation, reserves management and coaching subsurface engineers.

Reservoir studies and field development

• Lead integrated reservoir studies, dynamic simulation and well-performance reviews to select economically sound development options.
• Analyse reservoir surveillance, pressure and fluid sampling, material balance, well tests and production data.
• Develop field plans, enhanced recovery proposals, production forecasts and reservoir management strategies.
• Evaluate waterflood, gas-injection, gas-lift and other recovery options for existing fields.
• Coordinate annual resources and reserves evaluation, classification and reporting.
• Review well-test programmes, development studies, technical proposals and the performance of contractors.
• Manage relevant well testing and software contracts, technical evaluations and approvals.

Leadership and collaboration

• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and share technical practices across integrated asset teams.
• Coordinate with development, production, drilling, completion, economics, HSE and external stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and guidance while maintaining data quality and auditability.
• Observe safety and environmental procedures, support emergency response and participate in incident follow-up.

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Eight to twelve years’ relevant experience, including at least eight years in reservoir engineering with an operating company.
• At least seven years’ oil and gas industry experience is an additional stated application condition.
• Strong capability in dynamic modelling, material balance, decline-curve and pressure-transient analysis, surveillance and reserves evaluation.
• Knowledge of well delivery, field development, production optimisation, HSE and economic evaluation.
• Sound English communication, stakeholder management and coaching skills.
