Senior Data Analyst (Credit) at Kuda – Lagos

Kuda is recruiting a Senior Data Analyst specialising in credit in Lagos. Working in the Decision Science team and reporting to the Credit Risk Analytics Lead, the analyst will use data throughout the lending lifecycle, from product design and acquisition to portfolio monitoring, collections and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Analyse credit portfolio performance to identify trends, emerging risks and growth opportunities.
• Review and improve credit policies and rule-based decision engines.
• Prepare and maintain profit-and-loss forecasts for credit products.
• Assess credit affordability and credit limit assignment approaches.
• Evaluate score cut-offs to refine approval strategies and risk controls.
• Analyse collections outcomes and optimise approaches for different customer segments.
• Design and assess A/B experiments across lending and collections processes.
• Present recommendations and findings to senior business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or another quantitative field.
• At least five years of quantitative or data analytics experience in financial services, fintech or e-commerce.
• Advanced SQL capability for accessing and transforming data.
• Practical knowledge of Python, R or comparable open-source statistical programming tools.
• Understanding of statistical significance and tests used in A/B experiments.
• Experience using statistical software and building analytical reports or dashboards end to end.
• Ability to present evidence-based insights in a commercial context and engage stakeholders.

Additional advantages

• Knowledge of annualised credit losses, vintage curves and roll rates.
• Familiarity with exposure at default (EAD) and loss given default (LGD).
