Community Medical Personnel at Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF) – Makurdi and Maiduguri

Jireh Doo Foundation is recruiting Community Medical Personnel for Makurdi, Benue State, and Maiduguri, Borno State. The clinicians will provide direct patient care and help maintain safe, effective health services.

Clinical and management responsibilities

• Carry out consultations, diagnose and treat illness and follow JDF and applicable health-sector protocols.
• Explain diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor hospitalised and displaced patients, assess progress and arrange discharge or referral where appropriate.
• Maintain safe handling, sterilisation and rational distribution of medicines and medical equipment.
• Collect and analyse epidemiological information and escalate clinical concerns, errors and equipment problems.
• Maintain infection prevention, universal precautions, patient confidentiality and biohazard controls.
• Train and supervise multidisciplinary staff, manage shifts and support emergency or on-call services.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• At least three years’ professional clinical experience after registration, including managerial or supervisory ability.
• Availability for a minimum period of nine to twelve months, resilience under pressure and capacity to train colleagues.
• Written and spoken fluency in English and Hausa; a Community Medicine diploma is desirable.
• Experience in infectious disease, public health, minor surgery, obstetrics, HIV/AIDS or emergency medicine is advantageous.
• Sound record-keeping, digital skills, confidentiality and sensitivity to humanitarian and cultural contexts.
