About the role
Consulting Civil Engineer job opportunity is available at Rossland Screening Solutions for individuals who possess an M.Sc Degree in Civil Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
- Use a range of computer software for developing detailed designs
- Undertake complex calculations
- Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors
- Compile job specs and supervise tendering procedures
- Resolve design and development problems
- Manage budgets and project resources
- Schedule material and equipment purchases and deliveries
- Make sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety
- Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
- Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum of an M.Sc Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
- 10 years work experience.
Key Skills:
- Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills
- Ability to think methodically and to manage projects
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets
- Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Negotiate, supervisory and leadership skills
- Complete knowledge of relevant legislation.
