Deputy Project Manager at Oilserv Limited – Lagos

Oilserv Limited is recruiting a Deputy Project Manager in Lagos for an annually renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance. The role supports the delivery of power-plant, gas-pipeline and petrochemical projects and deputises for the Project Manager when required.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate must have a strong background in supporting the management and delivery of projects related to power plants, gas pipelines, and petrochemical plants, and must be able to deputise for the Project Manager when required.

This is a contract position, renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance.

Job Details

• Deputise for the Project Manager in his/her absence, with delegated authority to make decisions and represent the company at project meetings
• Support the Project Manager in developing project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline, and ensure alignment with company strategy and objectives
• Organise day-to-day project activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
• Supervise and guide project engineers, site teams, contractors, and vendors, and resolve interface issues between them
• Track project progress and identify risks and issues, developing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
• PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent project management certification (preferred)
• COREN registration and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. NSE) (preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in managing projects related to power plants, gas pipelines, and petrochemical plants, including experience in an assistant or deputy project management role.
