Documentary Producer (Senior Officer) at Media Trust Limited – Abuja

Media Trust Limited is recruiting a Documentary Producer at Senior Officer grade in Abuja. The role is a visual storytelling position within the multimedia output wing, translating complex, long-form investigations and human-interest narratives into high-impact, cinematic documentaries for digital and broadcast audiences. The Documentary Producer leads projects from the initial concept and script through field shooting and final post-production.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end production: Research, pitch, script, direct and produce short- and long-form investigative documentaries.
• Newsroom collaboration: Work closely with investigative reporters and data journalists to turn print and digital reporting into compelling visual narratives.
• Post-production oversight: Direct video editors, sound designers and motion-graphics artists to maintain a high standard of production quality.
• Platform optimisation: Adapt footage into platform-specific formats and lengths for broadcast, streaming services and vertical social-media videos.

Requirements

• Experience: At least six years of proven experience producing mini-documentaries or high-end video journalism for reputable media organisations.
• Technical skills: Advanced proficiency in video-editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, alongside cinematography, field lighting and dynamic narrative scriptwriting.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio or showreel is mandatory.
