Finance Manager at Schneider Electric – Lagos

Schneider Electric is recruiting a full-time Finance Manager for a hybrid position in Lagos. The role oversees accurate accounting, statutory and tax reporting, period-end controls and financial reporting for the territory.

Accounting operations and reporting

• Manage general-ledger accuracy, journal entries, provisions, accruals, reconciliations and the month-end close.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivables, payment cycles, collections and outstanding balances.
• Maintain full accounting documentation and use SAP ERP for accurate processing and workflow improvements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting schedules, analyse statement movements and investigate variances.

Compliance and financial controls

• Coordinate local tax accounting and filing, maintain records and support statutory audits.
• Apply local accounting requirements, internal procedures and relevant reporting standards.
• Improve approvals, segregation of duties, reconciliations and financial documentation.
• Identify finance-system and process improvement opportunities without weakening controls.

Collaboration and performance

• Work with finance colleagues, auditors, tax advisers and commercial stakeholders.
• Explain financial risks and reporting issues to finance and non-finance teams.
• Plan work independently and guide other finance professionals where needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
• A CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
• Substantial hands-on experience with financial accounting, reporting, reconciliation, tax, audit and internal controls.
• Practical SAP ERP knowledge, strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Experience working in a multinational or complex environment is an advantage.
