Emeraid International Group Limited is recruiting a Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Abuja.

The opportunity

Lead daily Group operational delivery, turn strategy into practical and accountable work programmes, resolve bottlenecks and strengthen the management systems needed for sustainable performance.

Core responsibilities

• Convert agreed strategic priorities into funded plans, budgets, delivery milestones and clear responsibilities.
• Oversee project mobilisation, execution and completion, confirming technical, contractual and funding conditions.
• Maintain accurate portfolio information, run operational reviews and recover delayed assignments.
• Partner with the CFO to monitor costs, margins, invoices, collections and affordability of commitments.
• Coach managers, coordinate shared services, improve people systems and reduce avoidable dependence on the CEO.
• Maintain client and partner reporting, project documentation and approval processes.
• Strengthen safety, quality, compliance, risk and corrective-action systems.
• Resolve routine operational decisions and escalate material exceptions with recommendations.

Experience and requirements

• At least ten years’ progressive experience, including five years leading operations across multiple projects, departments or businesses.
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification route supported by substantial leadership results.
• Evidence of delivery recovery, resource management, financial accountability, manager development and operating-system improvements.
• Strong spreadsheet, management reporting and financial forecast interpretation skills.
• Experience in two or more of development programmes, renewable energy, enterprise or agribusiness services, technology projects or multi-company groups is desirable.
• Judgement, integrity and collaborative leadership; a previous COO title is not necessary.

Early targets

Establish a portfolio dashboard, approved delivery plans, escalation matrix and repeatable operating reviews by day 90. Within six months, target a 40% reduction in CEO time spent on routine operational coordination, measured from an agreed baseline.
