Head of Engineering at Strivo Labs – Lagos

Strivo Labs is recruiting a Head of Engineering in Lagos to lead engineering teams, set technical direction and take responsibility for delivering secure, scalable and reliable technology products.

Responsibilities

• Set engineering strategy, architecture, technical standards and delivery processes in line with business priorities.
• Lead, mentor and hold engineering teams accountable for quality, timelines and performance across projects.
• Oversee software development, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation and operational reliability.
• Work across Product, Design, Operations and leadership to turn requirements into production-ready solutions.
• Manage technical resources, competing priorities, dependencies, risks and security concerns.
• Improve development processes, recruit and develop engineers and report technical performance to executives.
• Support compliance with relevant fintech, data protection, security and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related technical field.
• At least eight years of software engineering or technology experience, including substantial engineering leadership experience.
• Proven delivery of complex production systems and leadership of engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, DevOps, cybersecurity and scaling systems.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum, delivery metrics and cross-functional stakeholder management.
• Experience in fintech, banking, payments or other regulated technology environments is desirable.
• Sound technical judgement, assertive decision-making, ownership and strong mentoring and communication skills.
