Head of Retail Banking at an Undisclosed Microfinance Bank (via Logic Consulting) – Lagos

A digital-first national microfinance bank is recruiting a full-time Head of Retail Banking in Lagos through Logic Consulting & Professional Services. The role will lead retail banking strategy and customer growth across deposits, lending, payments and digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver retail banking strategies focused on acquiring, engaging and retaining individual customers.
• Design customer-focused banking products and drive adoption of digital banking services and transaction channels.
• Lead deposit mobilisation, retail payments, lending and portfolio growth while improving bank profitability and customer experience.
• Build and guide a high-performing retail banking team, working with technology and risk functions to deliver secure, scalable services.
• Manage consumer relationships, loyalty programmes, performance measures and retail banking compliance.
• Identify opportunities to expand retail banking across Nigeria and potentially other African markets.
• Work towards targets including ₦100 billion in annual deposits, ₦80 billion in annual loan disbursements and onboarding at least 300,000 individual customers.
• Aim for 85% of retail clients using at least three banking products and a 95% active customer ratio.
• Oversee personal loan and savings or investment product solutions and ensure compliance with risk, regulation and internal controls.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline; MBA or professional qualification is advantageous.
• Ten to twelve years’ retail banking experience, including at least five years in leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of consumer financial services, credit analysis, financial risk and retail banking products.
• Proven success in customer acquisition, retention, digital banking innovation and retail business expansion.
• Experience with fintech or digital banking platforms, strong commercial leadership and customer relationship management.
