Cleaner

Job Location: Monguno, Borno
Contract Term: Fulltime

Position Summary

  • The cleaner will be responsible for daily cleaning and generator maintenance.
  • The cleaner will ensure that the office is clean and orderly and presentable to visitors.
  • The office cleaner will keep tidy the kitchen, lobby, empty rubbish bins, ensure that the yard is clean and maintained and monitor generator usage, turning on the generator in the morning, and ensuring that the generator is secured in the evening. Upon request, the cleaner may assist other staff members with simple administrative tasks like photocopying or filing.
  • This position will be based in Monguno, Borno State

Reporting & Supervision

  • The Cleaner reports technically to the Guest house Manager in Maiduguri and administratively to the Junior Program Manager Monguno.

Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Keep office clean and orderly, including the kitchen, lobby and toilets at all times
  • Prepare coffee, tea, and meals as required for staff and local partners during working hours;
  • Empty rubbish bins regularly
  • Maintain yard and basic landscaping duties
  • Inform the Administration or GHM of any required office supplies such as drinking water, toiletries, etc;
  • Inform the Administration or Logistics Officer of any required building repairs;
  • Secure generator and ensure that basic usage logs are maintained
  • Assist the GHM to secure the office consumable stock and ensure usage in compliance with operational guidelines
  • Assist in organizing and preparing the office for meetings;
  • Assist the GHM with Inventory management, filing and documentation of stock record forms;
  • Any other work as required by Manager and Operational policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Secondary school certificate is preferred
  • Good communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple and potentially competing deadlines.

Driver

Job Location: Monguno, Borno
Contract Term: Fulltime

Position Summary

  • The Driver is responsible for operating a vehicle owned by the organization to provide transportation services to the employees and visitors of the organization; to move expendable and non-expendable supplies, equipment and furnishings, as necessary; ensure that preventive maintenance of the vehicle is performed on a regular basis.
  • The driver will also support with logistics services within the office.
  • This Driver position will be based in Monguno, Borno State with frequent travel to other programmatic locations.

Reporting & Supervision

  • The Driver reports technically to the Guest House Manager and administratively to the Junior Program Manager in Monguno.

Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist the project staff in obtaining and facilitating movement to different project sites.
  • Arrange for vehicle repairs, when necessary, and ensure that the vehicle is kept in good working condition.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, maintenance, oil changes, etc.
  • Ensure that all required procedures and laws are adhered to when driving.
  • Collect and deliver mail or other type of correspondence, when required.
  • Provide safe transportation to passengers.
  • Assist in moving supplies, equipment and furnishings, as necessary, from one location to another.
  • Assist the GHM to secure the office assets and ensure usage in compliance with operational guidelines
  • Assist in organizing and preparing the office for meetings;
  • Assist the GHM with Inventory management, filing and documentation of operational forms as required;
  • Provide airport pick-up/drop-off services to official visitors of the project.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned by Managers

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Completion of Secondary School is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience driving a motor vehicle is required. At least 1-2 years of experience with an International Organization is preferred.
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent knowledge of different regions in the country is required.
  • Working knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of driving.
  • Valid Nigerian Driver’s license is required.
  • Clean driving record/history is required.
  • Excellent Communication skills are required.
  • Experience of working in a conflict environment is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and one of the local state languages in the North Eastern part of Nigeria is preferred.

Verification Officer

Job Location:Abuja

Position Summary

  • The Verification Officer is responsible for assisting the Verification Manager in investigating inconsistencies in operation or project management areas and verifying information to ensure compliance with internationally accepted policies and regulations.
  • This position will be based at the head office, located in Abuja, with program activities expected to be carried out in the North Eastern states. Regular travel is expected.

Reporting & Supervision:

  • The Verification Officer reports to the Verification Manager.

Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the Verification Manager in conducting verification process on any claims received.
  • Ensure compliance with International Development policies and regulations.
  • Identify and investigate inconsistencies or other shortcomings of the project in assigned areas.
  • In collaboration with Verification Manager, identify and recommend, as appropriate, efficiency improvements to policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Verification Manager in reviewing overall budgeting and financial information of the project including cash flow administration, time sheet recording, and management of in-country expenses.
  • Assist the Verification Manager in producing updated monthly reports.
  • Review invoices and ensure they are done in accordance with internal procedures and International Development policies.
  • Provide verification management and systems training for project staff.
  • Assist in facilitating continuous improvements through providing support to the project or grantees involved in project activities.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a strong system of internal controls to ensure high level of quality assurance compliance.
  • Carry out an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and standards by which the organization’s financial, physical and information resources are managed Other tasks, as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • University Degree in Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance or Business Administration
  • 2 years’ work experience in a related field is required
  • Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or ACCA or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred
  • A broad understanding of issues related to international development is required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Prior experience with International Development projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficient at using Microsoft office software: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience of working in a conflict environment is a plus.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in one or more of the local state languages in the North Eastern part of Nigeria is required.
