WASH Deputy Program Manager at Action Against Hunger – Katsina

Action Against Hunger is recruiting a WASH Deputy Program Manager in Katsina to support water, sanitation and hygiene planning, project delivery, monitoring and coordination within its humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Help shape and implement WASH sector plans and the mission’s strategic approaches, including emergency preparedness for WASH, shelter and non-food items.
• Coordinate needs assessments, feasibility studies and identification of humanitarian WASH needs.
• Contribute to project proposals, implementation schedules and technical guidelines.
• Supervise quality and safety in infrastructure, hygiene promotion, emergency response and shelter-related activities.
• Monitor delivery using activity-progress, budget and training reports; contribute monthly situation and technical reports.
• Support community accountability, beneficiary participation, partner capacity-building and coordination with local stakeholders.
• Assist programme surveys, evaluations and the implementation of recommendations.
• Maintain project records, photographs, databases and lessons learned in accordance with organisational requirements.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil or Building Engineering or Technology, Geology or Construction Technology.
• At least three years of relevant work and management experience.
• Applied WASH project-management skills and familiarity with humanitarian principles and Sphere Standards.
• Ability to work with design tools such as GIS, AutoCAD, EPANET and borehole-pumping or network-design applications.
• Experience in humanitarian or international NGO settings, with team management, planning, communication and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to operate with limited supervision.
