Analytical Chemist (Entry Level) at The Candel FZE – Ibeju-Lekki

The Candel FZE is hiring a full-time, entry-level Analytical Chemist for its Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos operation. The role involves laboratory testing, quality assurance and safe handling of materials.

Laboratory duties

• Collect incoming raw-material samples and test them against acceptance specifications.
• Prepare, label and manage laboratory reagents in accordance with operating procedures.
• Perform documented physical and chemical analyses of production samples and finished products.
• Inspect, verify and calibrate equipment, glassware and work areas, and maintain appropriate laboratory conditions.
• Track laboratory consumables, stocks and performance data, providing periodic reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Apply good laboratory practice, safety procedures, personal protective equipment requirements and quality monitoring standards.

Requirements

• Graduate in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry from a Nigerian university.
• Good analytical ability, familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and an understanding of quality assurance.
• Awareness of ISO-related quality practice and NAFDAC and SON standards.
• Competence with Microsoft Office for reporting and the ability to work under pressure with limited supervision.
• Flexibility to work shifts.
