Business and Operations Officer at Alkanes Petroleum and Gas Limited – Lekki

Alkanes Petroleum and Gas Limited is recruiting a full-time Business and Operations Officer in Lekki, Lagos State.

Operations, logistics and inventory

• Support the management of petroleum depot activities, logistics and product distribution.
• Coordinate product loading, dispatch and delivery while monitoring stock availability.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and help prevent shortages and avoidable delays.
• Ensure that product handling and transportation follow established safety and operational procedures.

Commercial growth and customer service

• Identify downstream market opportunities and assist with sales and marketing plans.
• Build relationships with suppliers, partners and customers to improve service quality and commercial performance.
• Recommend opportunities for growth within petroleum distribution and storage operations.

Financial and regulatory controls

• Prepare and monitor operational and business development budgets.
• Analyse operating costs and work with Finance on forecasts, customer billing and collections.
• Maintain required licences, permits and regulatory documentation, and liaise with petroleum-sector regulators.
• Coordinate safety, environmental and quality teams during inspections, audits, vessel receipts and other controlled operations.

Stakeholder engagement and improvement

• Coordinate with government agencies, terminal and jetty personnel, external surveyors and cargo-handling parties.
• Monitor cargo stock movements, truck loading and receiving documentation.
• Improve procedures, use operational data to identify inefficiencies, and prepare regular performance reports.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field.
• One to five years’ relevant operations management experience, ideally in downstream oil and gas.
• Demonstrated exposure to large-scale supply-chain or depot operations.
• Understanding of petroleum distribution, regulatory controls, logistics, ERP and supply-chain management tools.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, analysis, communication and stakeholder management skills.
