Job Overview
- The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing, promoting, and creating awareness regarding the company’s Groupage/LCL Service.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to in line with agreed budgets
- Oversee the development and delivery of sales proposals and presentations
- Provide Executive Management weekly with relevant and clear information relating to LCL market activity
- Identify and develop relationships with LCL international networks
- Provide customers with accurate and cost-effective quotations
- Identify and source for customers with LCL business trade links in Asia, Europe, US hubs.
- Manage overseas network partners relationships
- Gather market information and provide relevant feedback on competitor’s rates
- Ensure conversion of prospective customers into new businesses
- Liaise with Pricing Team, Sales team, and Operations to ensure competitive and sustainable pricing is provided in regular daily quotes
- Any other duty as may be assigned
Experience and qualifications
Job Requirements
- Not less than 5 – 7 years working experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry
- Strong negotiation skills
- Result oriented
- Strong Sales skills
- Proven track record in a related role
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven commercial awareness
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc or HND in Marketing in any discipline
- MBA will be an added advantage.
