Crane Specialist (FSR/SME) – Electrical & Instrumentation at VURIN Group – Port Harcourt, Rivers State
VURIN Group is hiring a full-time Crane Specialist (FSR/SME) – Electrical & Instrumentation in Port Harcourt to lead advanced diagnostics, calibration, inspections and repair oversight for crane electrical and control equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting of crane electrical, power, control and load-moment indicator systems.
- Check system parameters and calibrate safety indicators, limit switches and alarms.
- Approve repair approaches and lead root-cause analysis for recurring electrical and instrument faults.
- Conduct API RP 2D inspections and verify post-repair functional and load tests.
- Oversee electrical and instrumentation overhauls against OEM requirements.
- Coach crane technicians and client staff in safe maintenance methods.
- Apply permit-to-work, electrical isolation and HSE controls and prepare technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation or a related field.
- API 2D Certified Crane Technician qualification is required.
- OEM training on crane electrical, control or LMI systems and valid offshore BOSIET/OSP.
- At least ten years’ crane electrical and instrumentation maintenance, inspection and overhaul experience.
- Knowledge of mobile, pedestal and overhead cranes, wiring diagrams, calibration and hazardous-area equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and lockout/tagout procedures.
