Crane Specialist (FSR / SME) – Mechanical & Hydraulic at VURIN Group – Port Harcourt, Rivers State
VURIN Group is recruiting a full-time Crane Specialist (FSR/SME) for mechanical and hydraulic crane systems in Port Harcourt. The specialist provides manufacturer-aligned support on onshore and offshore cranes, leading complex diagnostics, testing and repair oversight.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose faults affecting crane engines, winches, Braden hoists, hydraulics and structures.
- Investigate root causes and approve corrective repair procedures.
- Lead crane load tests and API RP 2D inspections and support return-to-service decisions.
- Oversee overhaul work and verify that technician repairs meet OEM requirements.
- Identify structural defects and refer work for engineering or nondestructive testing.
- Train technicians and customer staff and share technical updates.
- Enforce permit-to-work and lockout/tagout controls, maintain technical records and report hazards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- API RP 2D Certified Crane Specialist qualification is required.
- OEM training in engines, winches/Braden hoists and hydraulic systems.
- Valid BOSIET/OSP certification for offshore assignments.
- Microsoft Word and Excel skills for technical reporting.
