Experienced Civil Engineer at Fiphs Infrastructure Limited – Port Harcourt, Rivers

Fiphs Infrastructure Limited is recruiting an experienced Civil Engineer in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to supervise construction work, lead technical site activities and support the delivery of infrastructure projects.

Position overview and responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day field supervision at project sites and ensure construction meets quality standards, design specifications, drawings, budgets and schedules.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies and site investigations to support effective project execution.
• Identify and resolve project design and development problems.
• Recommend measures to improve construction efficiency and project delivery.
• Coordinate field work, including contract work, in compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications and codes.
• Identify and implement construction-specific improvement opportunities.
• Test building materials for quality, and prepare estimates of costs and labour requirements.
• Assess environmental impacts and risks associated with construction projects.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable local, state and federal agency rules, standards and procedures.

Qualifications and requirements

• First degree or master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN is desirable.
• Professional membership or credentials with internationally recognised engineering bodies, including PMP or PRINCE2, are desirable.
• Minimum of five years’ post-NYSC experience in construction and project execution.
• Ability to work with design engineers, clients and contractors.
• Ability to use CAD packages.
• Excellent time management skills for competing deadlines.
• High level of autonomy, self-sufficiency and attention to detail.
• Intermediate proficiency with general computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
