Early Year Nursery Teacher at Millie’s British International School – Ibadan, Oyo

Millie’s British International School in Ibadan is recruiting an Early Year Nursery Teacher for its Early Years Foundation Stage team. The role involves teaching children aged two to five in a safe, engaging British-curriculum setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and play-based learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Support children’s early language, phonics, literacy, numeracy and handwriting development.
• Create teaching activities using music, drama, dance, creative art and practical exploration.
• Prepare differentiated lesson plans and motivating classroom activities that address individual needs.
• Maintain engaging classroom displays and safe indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Encourage children’s emotional and social development, curiosity, independence and school readiness.
• Apply effective classroom management and child-safeguarding practices.

Requirements

• Residence in Ibadan within reasonable commuting distance of Jericho.
• BEd, BA, BSc, HND or PGDE in Early Childhood Education from a recognised institution.
• At least three years’ post-qualification experience in a comparable early-years teaching role.
• Ability to teach phonics or willingness to undergo phonics training, alongside strong early numeracy, literacy and handwriting skills.
• Creativity in performing arts and crafts, excellent English language skills and basic computer competence.
• Professional conduct, patient and energetic engagement with young learners, safe learning practices and good classroom management.
