Head of Maintenance and Janitorial Services at TQ Farms – Ogun

TQ Farms Nigeria Limited is recruiting a Head of Maintenance and Janitorial Services in Ijebu-North, Ogun, to coordinate sanitation, hygiene standards, cleaning teams and maintenance of farm and poultry facilities.

Working Days: Monday – Saturday

Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

• Summary
• The successful candidate will lead the cleaning, hygiene, and sanitation operations of the farm, with a focus on keeping every poultry pen clean and biosecure, as well as the offices, buildings, processing areas, and compounds
• Key Responsibilties

Poultry Pens and Farm Sanitation

• Supervise the daily cleaning of each poultry pen, including floors, walls, feeders, drinkers, and surroundings.
• Assign cleaners to specific pens and monitor the quality of their work.
• Oversee the removal, handling and disposal of litter, droppings, dead birds and other farm waste.
• Carry out and supervise washing, disinfection and sanitation of pens between flocks, in line with farm management instructions.
• Enforce biosecurity measures, including footbaths, restricted access, and cleaning and disinfection of equipment and vehicles.
• Keep drainage, walkways and areas around the pens clean, and control pests and rodents in coordination with farm management.

General Cleaning and Site Upkeep

• Keep offices, buildings, processing areas, toilets, washrooms and compounds clean, hygienic and orderly.
• Set cleaning schedules and standards for all sites, and monitor compliance through regular inspections.
• Supervise grounds upkeep, including compounds, walkways and bush clearing around the farm.

Management, Safety and Records

• Manage, schedule and evaluate the janitorial and farm sanitation team.
• Train cleaners on proper cleaning methods, safe handling of disinfectants and chemicals, and use of protective equipment.
• Manage the stock and use of cleaning materials, disinfectants, tools and equipment within approved budgets.
• Source and manage cleaning suppliers and contractors.
• Enforce health, safety and sanitation standards.
• Keep cleaning schedules, pen sanitation records, inspection records and supplies logs.
• Report to management and work with the Facility Manager on site upkeep and repairs.

Requirements and Qualifications

• OND, HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Facilities Management or a related discipline. Relevant experience and certification will be considered.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in cleaning, sanitation, or farm hygiene supervision, preferably on a poultry or livestock farm.
• Proven experience supervising and scheduling cleaners or farm workers.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, waste management and safe handling of disinfectants and chemicals.
• Understanding of farm biosecurity practices.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage supplies and budgets.
• Strong leadership, communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple pens and sites.
• Willingness to work on a farm and in outdoor and poultry pen environments.
