Hotel Kitchen Assistant at Teestone Hotels & Apartments – Ojodu Berger
Teestone Hotels & Apartments is seeking a Hotel Kitchen Assistant in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, to support its chefs and cooks with food preparation, kitchen organisation and day-to-day hygiene.
Key responsibilities
- Wash, peel, chop and portion ingredients for food preparation.
- Clean and sanitise workstations, kitchen equipment, utensils and food preparation areas.
- Wash pots, pans, plates and kitchen tools promptly.
- Receive, inspect and store deliveries and kitchen supplies correctly.
- Follow food handling, storage, health and safety procedures.
- Keep kitchens and storerooms tidy, dispose of waste and replenish essential supplies.
- Alert supervisors to low stock levels and assist with opening and closing kitchen stations.
- Support kitchen colleagues during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Minimum SSCE or equivalent secondary-school qualification.
- Prior experience in a kitchen, hotel or restaurant is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work quickly, remain standing for extended periods and contribute to a team.
- Effective communication and availability for flexible shifts, including weekends.
Reports to: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor.
