Industrial Hygiene Lab Officer – Chemical Analysis at Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited – Port Harcourt

Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited is recruiting an Industrial Hygiene Lab Officer specialising in chemical analysis in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The role covers laboratory operations, sampling, analytical quality and industrial hygiene monitoring.

Main Functions

• Manage the general administration of Industrial hygiene Chemistry laboratory
• Manage proper stocking of all laboratory equipment, material/ reagents
• Ensures the maintenance of professionalism, effectiveness and efficiency of laboratory practice.
• Manage supervising day-to-day laboratory resources/equipment including but not limited to inventory, usage analysis, equipment and stock control.
• Submit monthly report of lab activities to Head industrial hygiene
• Ensures regular maintenance of all laboratory equipment for optimal performance
• Co-ordinates water sampling and Chemical analysis from all Total locations and interpret data to user department
• Co-ordinate’s collection and Chemical analysis of industrial hygiene samples
• Ensures proper implementation of measures to achieve accuracy of laboratory test results
• Participate in HSE meetings, industrial hygiene awareness seminars/trainings and enlightenment program
• Participate in Identification and evaluation of industrial hygiene hazards in all company locations.
• Provides hazard information/toxicological information on analyzed samples, products, waste, emissions, hazardous chemicals
• Participates in indoor air quality program
• Conducts audits of water treatment plant of all company locations, monitor and facilitate implementation of mitigating actions.
• Conducts periodic trend analysis of results from laboratory investigation.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the head of Industrial Hygiene
• Carry out health risk assessment on assigned sites
• Participate in monthly hygiene inspections

Accountabilities

• Ensures efficiency and effectiveness of the laboratory and proper quality assurance
• Maintenance of operational readiness of laboratory procedures and systems
• Personnel supervision and administration.
• Coordinates all internal and external sample analysis of all TOTAL locations.
• Promotes HSE and ensures safety of personnel and facilities
• Ensures that all laboratory equipment is available for inventory.
• Onshore and Offshore site visits/work activities when applicable

Job Requirements

• Possess Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in the Chemistry or Applied Science discipline
• Have a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as a lab analyst or related position
• High level of Training, communication, coaching/mentoring, analytical, change management, and presentation skills.
