Marine Engineer III at Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Limited – Nigeria

Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Limited is hiring a Marine Engineer III on a contract basis in Nigeria. The engineer will oversee discipline engineering work and support safe, cost-effective marine operations.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering and contractor work against company specifications, standards and regulations.
• Coordinate discipline design routines and communicate project progress and technical issues.
• Produce technical reports and maintain relationships with contractors, clients and regulators.
• Arrange repair materials and coordinate marine equipment maintenance, alterations and cost controls.
• Liaise between ship captains and shore personnel on safe operations, schedules and budgets.
• Test and maintain automatic controls and alarm systems, recording maintenance and engineering expenses.
• Monitor vessel compliance with international life-saving and pollution-prevention rules.
• Prepare engineering plans, estimates, construction schedules and contract specifications.
• Schedule machinery overhauls and servicing of electrical, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, water and sewage systems.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes and safety criteria.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluent technical and business communication in English.
