Operations Manager via MMT Consults – Dopemu, Lagos

An operator of petroleum, CNG and EV charging stations is seeking an Operations Manager in Dopemu, Lagos, through MMT Consults to lead its station network and supply chain.

Job Summary

• Responsible for the safe, efficient, compliant and profitable operation of the entire station network and supply chain, covering petroleum products, CNG and EV charging services.
• Ensures reliable product supply, effective logistics, strong stock control, preventive maintenance and consistent service standards across all sites.

Responsibilities

Network Operations and Performance

• Oversee the daily operations of all retail stations and ensure consistent adherence to company SOPs and service standards.
• Set operational targets for stations and monitor sales, volumes, margins, stock losses and customer satisfaction.
• Review daily and weekly station reports, addressunder-performanceandenforcebest practice across thestation.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for fuel, CNG and EV operations.

Supply Chain and Logistics

• Plan product requirements for each station and coordinate purchase, lifting from depots, scheduling and delivery to avoid stock-outs.
• Manage the haulage fleet and drivers, ensuring vehicleroad worthiness, journey management, documentation and safe, timely delivery.
• Monitor in-transit and delivery losses, investigate discrepancies and enforce accountability.
• Manage relationships with depot operators, suppliers, transporters and other vendors.

Stock and Loss Control

• Take responsibility for sourcing products (petroleum products, CNG and other station products), identifying and evaluating approved suppliers and depots, negotiating prices and terms, and securing reliable, quality supply at competitive cost to meet stock requirements across all stations.
• Oversee stock reconciliation across stations, analyse gains and losses and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Ensure dispensing equipment and tank gauges are calibrated and certified in line with regulatory requirements.

Maintenance and Asset Integrity

• Implement planned preventive maintenance for pumps, tanks, generators, CNG compressors and dispensers, and EV chargers.
• Direct the Maintenance Technicians, approve repair and spare-parts requests and manage external contractors.
• Monitor asset uptime and ensure fast response to equipment breakdowns.

HSE, Compliance and Projects

• Implement the company’s HSE management system across all sites, including audits, incident investigations and emergency preparedness.
• Ensure all stations hold and renew the required operatinglicenses, permits and certificates.
• Support new-station commissioning, refurbishments and the roll-out of CNG and EV services.
• Prepare and manage the operations budget and report regularly to the COO.

People

• Lead, motivate and develop Station Managers and operations staff and conduct performance appraisals.
• Identify training needs and ensure staff competence in safe operations and customer service.
