Reporting Officer at Heart for Humanity Initiative – Maiduguri, Borno
Heart for Humanity Initiative is recruiting a Reporting Officer for a three-month humanitarian project based in Maiduguri with activities in Dikwa LGA, Borno State. Reporting to the Program Manager, the officer will produce accurate documentation for donors, partners and internal teams.
Key responsibilities
- Write weekly, monthly and final project reports in the formats required by donors.
- Collect information from field, finance and monitoring and evaluation colleagues, checking its completeness and consistency.
- Prepare situation updates and information for humanitarian sector reporting tools, including 4Ws and 5Ws.
- Develop human-interest stories and case studies with informed consent and safeguarding measures.
- Coordinate photo and video documentation in line with consent requirements.
- Organise project documents, meeting records and reporting files for reliable access.
- Maintain a reporting calendar and notify colleagues of approaching deadlines.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Mass Communication, Journalism, Development Studies or a related discipline.
- At least two years of reporting or documentation experience in an NGO or humanitarian environment.
- Donor-report writing experience is a strong advantage.
- Excellent English writing, editing, proofreading and ability to explain field data clearly.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; basic photography is an advantage.
- Meticulous handling of records, confidentiality and deadlines.
Contract: Fixed-term, full-time appointment for three months.
