Supply Chain Excellence and Systems Lead at Dangote Industries Limited – Lagos

Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a Supply Chain Excellence and Systems Lead in Lagos, reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Excellence & Systems. The role improves supply chain processes, systems, analytics and governance across planning, inventory, warehousing and logistics. It does not include procurement or sourcing responsibilities.

Scope and responsibilities

• Develop and standardise supply chain excellence frameworks, operating procedures and performance practices.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, process mapping, root-cause analysis and business process improvement projects.
• Own supply chain business processes and coordinate the optimisation and integration of SAP, warehouse, transport, planning, analytics and maintenance systems.
• Drive digital transformation, automation and visibility initiatives, including control towers and AI-assisted planning opportunities.
• Design dashboards and KPI governance, evaluate trends and prepare decision-support reports for leadership.
• Improve safety stock, reorder settings, critical spares management, inventory accuracy and obsolete-stock reduction.
• Set warehouse operating standards and raise storage utilisation, transaction accuracy and staff productivity.
• Strengthen logistics, distribution, port and terminal performance through monitoring and operational improvement.
• Set master data standards for inventory, materials, warehousing, logistics and planning; coordinate cleansing and data-quality controls.
• Support audits, internal controls and supply chain policy compliance.
• Train colleagues in systems, analytics and process discipline, fostering continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Seven to ten or more years of progressive supply chain or heavy manufacturing experience.
• Professional qualifications such as CIPS, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma, APICS or CILSCM are an advantage; a master’s degree or MBA is also advantageous.
• Practical familiarity with ERP and maintenance systems, including SAP or Oracle, and strong Microsoft 365 skills.
• Experience balancing deadlines and multiple stakeholders and using data or BI tools for operational reporting.

Relevant technical and leadership competencies

• Supply chain planning, materials, inventory, warehouse and logistics management; process reengineering and value stream analysis.
• Data governance, audit controls, forecasting, KPI design and business intelligence.
• ERP and analytics tools such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM, SAP WM/EWM, SAP IBP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, SQL and advanced Excel.
• Automation and emerging digital approaches, including Power Platform, Power Automate, RPA, process mining, machine learning and predictive analytics.
• Strategic judgement, stakeholder collaboration, clear reporting, team development, integrity, change leadership and a service-oriented approach.
