Telehandler Operator at Bridgewaters Investment – Lagos and Ogun (3 Openings)

Bridgewaters Investment is recruiting three full-time Telehandler Operators for Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos and Sango Ota and Abeokuta in Ogun State. The operators will move construction materials and heavy loads safely in operational and site environments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate telescopic handlers for lifting, unloading, transferring and positioning materials, machinery and equipment.
• Manoeuvre equipment safely around construction sites, warehouses and industrial facilities.
• Handle pallets, steel sections, building materials and other heavy items using approved attachments.
• Use telescopic boom controls to position loads safely at the required heights and distances.
• Interpret load charts and determine lifting capacities, load centres, extension limits and operating radii.
• Keep all lifts within manufacturers’ safe working load limits.
• Evaluate terrain, gradients, ground stability and nearby obstacles before each lift.
• Position equipment securely and check stability before lifting or transporting a load.
• Communicate closely with banksmen, riggers, crane operators and site supervisors.

Requirements

• Valid telehandler competency certificate or equivalent verifiable operator training.
• Demonstrable practical and theoretical instruction in lifting safety, stability and load handling.
• Relevant operator approvals or certifications under applicable Nigerian factory inspection and lifting equipment requirements.
• Health, safety and environment training covering hazards, risk assessment and safe operation.
• Ability to interpret equipment manuals, operating instructions, lifting charts and safety documents.
• An HND or technical qualification in mechanical, automobile or plant engineering or heavy-equipment technology is an advantage.
• Further vocational instruction in equipment or material handling is desirable.
