Head of Legal and Company Secretary at Refin Homes – Lagos

Refin Homes Limited is recruiting a full-time Head of Legal and Company Secretary in Lagos. Reporting to senior management, the role leads legal advice, property transaction review, corporate governance, statutory compliance and management of legal risk across its real-estate business.

Legal advisory and property transactions

• Advise management on contracts, commercial operations and regulatory obligations.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, construction contracts, leases, deeds, consultancy arrangements and other legal instruments.
• Conduct property title searches and due diligence, review acquisitions and sales, and protect the company’s land and development interests.
• Manage disputes, coordinate external counsel and liaise with land registries, regulators and property stakeholders.

Company secretarial and compliance responsibilities

• Arrange board and statutory meetings; prepare notices, agendas, minutes and resolutions.
• Maintain statutory registers and corporate records and ensure timely filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
• Monitor compliance with CAMA 2020 and real estate, construction, labour and commercial laws.
• Review internal policies and employment documents, assess legal risks and advise on mitigation measures.

Qualifications and experience

• LL.B degree, Barrister-at-Law qualification and admission to the Nigerian Bar.
• Three to five years’ post-call legal experience, including corporate governance, company secretarial and commercial-law work.
• Property development or construction-sector experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian company and property law, legal drafting, negotiation, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent judgement, organisation, discretion, integrity and stakeholder communication.

Salary

₦350,000–₦500,000 per month.
