Application Support Analyst at Stanbic IBTC Bank – Lagos

Stanbic IBTC Bank is recruiting an Application Support Analyst at Walter Carrington Crescent, Lagos, within its Group Functions business segment. The analyst will help maintain the reliability of digital banking and Finacle integration services, lead incident resolution and prevent recurring technical failures.

Application and core banking support

• Act as a technical escalation contact for Finacle integration problems, including API failures, connectivity and data inconsistencies.
• Coordinate with the Finacle Core team to investigate and resolve incidents affecting digital banking services.
• Manage major incidents, provide accurate stakeholder updates and conduct blameless root-cause analysis.
• Resolve systemic issues and apply permanent fixes to reduce repeat incidents.
• Support platform performance, production microservices, middleware and OpenShift environments.
• Improve automated health checks and monitoring, including latency alerts and observability tools.
• Coordinate safe hotfixes, releases and rollbacks when deployments fail.

Operational targets

• Reduce recurring integration incidents by 30%.
• Maintain automated health checks and p99 latency alerts for all production microservices.
• Aim for mean time to resolution below 45 minutes for critical P1 incidents.
• Support 99.99% availability of critical Finacle integration gateways.
• Improve incidents resolved at the first support tier without escalation.

Requirements

• A B.Sc. in IT, Computer Science or a related subject.
• Three to four years of operational experience with Finacle Core Banking, batch processing or ISO 8583/REST integration messaging.
• Ability to read and troubleshoot Java code and related Java platform utilities.
• Practical experience with OpenShift containers, pods, logs and resource management.
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or Dynatrace.
• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible and with Kafka or RabbitMQ message queues.
• Working proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL for Finacle data investigation and performance issues.
• Strong documentation, problem management, stakeholder communication, testing and continuity skills.
• ITIL Foundation, Java, Oracle or Microsoft certifications are advantages.
