Early Years Teacher at Hampos Academy – Apo Resettlement, Abuja

Hampos Academy is recruiting a full-time Early Years Teacher in Apo Resettlement, AMAC, Abuja. The teacher will provide a safe, nurturing classroom where young children develop literacy, numeracy, social interaction and motor skills through play and age-appropriate instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan lessons and play-based learning activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage and the school’s educational goals.
• Create a warm classroom that encourages curiosity, independence and constructive social relationships.
• Observe and assess children’s development and communicate progress to parents and colleagues.
• Support early language, literacy and numeracy through practical and engaging activities.
• Protect pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing through supervision, behaviour guidance and safeguarding practice.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and colleagues to maintain an organised and enriching environment.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Relevant teaching qualification and practical experience in an early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and learning methods.
• Patience, organisation, close attention to detail and a passion for child development.
• Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative where needed.
