Experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist at an Undisclosed Medical Centre – Port Harcourt
A multispecialty medical centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is recruiting an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to support its diagnostic and laboratory operations. The successful candidate will carry out clinical investigations, maintain reliable test records and help uphold laboratory quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, receive, prepare and analyse clinical specimens in line with laboratory procedures.
- Perform laboratory investigations and interpret results within the professional scope of practice.
- Verify, validate and document test results accurately.
- Carry out quality control checks and maintain compliance with laboratory standards.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and handle reagents and consumables safely.
- Develop standard operating procedures and supervise Laboratory Technicians.
- Maintain accurate records and observe infection-prevention and biosafety procedures.
Qualifications and requirements
- BMLS or BSc in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognised institution.
- Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- A valid professional practising licence.
- Relevant experience in a reputable clinical or diagnostic laboratory.
- Sound understanding of laboratory procedures, quality assurance and biosafety standards.
