Head, Factory Operations (GHAP) at Green Hills Agric Products Limited – Nigeria

Green Hills Agric Products Limited, a Mohinani Group subsidiary, is recruiting a Head of Factory Operations in Nigeria to lead safety, performance and profitability at an ethanol and carbon dioxide production facility.

Factory and process operations

• Direct daily operations across power and steam generation, milling, fermentation, distillation, storage and product dispatch.
• Maintain reliable operation of equipment used to produce extra neutral alcohol (ENA) and carbon dioxide.
• Coordinate maintenance, plant safety, production schedules, quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Manage boilers, cooling systems, power supply, water treatment, reverse osmosis, effluent treatment, waste-heat recovery and biodigester operations.
• Reduce consumption of steam, power, fuel, chemicals and other operating resources.

Budgeting, inventory and management

• Prepare operating and capital budgets, manage unit costs and monitor plant performance indicators.
• Coordinate procurement of cassava, molasses and other feedstocks and manage raw material and finished product stock.
• Oversee dispatch records and reconcile produced and dispatched ENA volumes.
• Apply standard operating procedures, traceability controls and improvement plans.
• Provide operational reports and recommendations to senior management and support expansion planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; an MBA or M.Tech is advantageous.
• Seven to fifteen years of experience in ethanol, ENA, distillery, sugar or biofuel manufacturing.
• Hands-on ENA facility experience; cassava-based ENA production with integrated carbon dioxide recovery is desirable.
• Understanding of utilities, process safety, HSE, quality control, budgeting and industrial operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and people-management abilities.
• Previous operational experience in Nigeria is an advantage.
