Head of Engineering & Estimation – Fire Protection at Future Concerns – Lagos

Future Concerns Fire Systems Limited is recruiting a Head of Engineering and Estimation in Lagos to lead fire-protection technical design and tendering.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers, estimators and tender preparers, setting technical standards and reviewing their work.
• Approve designs, hydraulic calculations and shop drawings before submission.
• Take ownership of bills of quantities, costing, subcontractor offers and technical proposals.
• Support client presentations, technical clarifications, value engineering and negotiations.
• Manage technical approvals, material submissions and NFPA and local-code compliance.
• Oversee commissioning, authority approvals, installation quality audits, maintenance standards and technical procedures.
• Maintain engineering rates and design databases for accurate estimating.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and COREN registration or eligibility.
• Ten or more years of fire-fighting systems experience, including at least three years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 14, 15, 20, 22, 25 and 2001.
• Practical design, hydraulic calculations, quantity take-offs, BOQ pricing, tendering and cost control.
• AutoCAD and hydraulic software capability; BIM/Revit exposure is an advantage.
• Leadership, communication and client-management skills.
