Category Specialist – Maintenance, Engineering & Projects (POMEP) at Undisclosed Company via WTS Energy – Lagos

An upstream oil and gas employer is recruiting a Category Specialist – Maintenance, Engineering & Projects (POMEP) in Lagos through WTS Energy. The position coordinates technical sourcing and supplier management for production, maintenance and engineering operations, with responsibility for cost engineering and purchasing controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement procurement strategies for engineering, maintenance and project categories.
• Coordinate sourcing, tender processes and contract negotiations with Nigerian and international suppliers.
• Apply Nigerian Content requirements under NOGICD to relevant procurement activities.
• Work with engineering and maintenance teams to align buying decisions with asset integrity and operational needs.
• Use cost engineering methods to improve value and reduce procurement costs.
• Maintain purchasing governance and manage procurement activity through enterprise resource planning systems.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least three years of relevant mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and control engineering experience.
• Experience or exposure to procurement for upstream oil and gas production, maintenance and engineering activities.
• Knowledge of production and engineering in infrastructure-intensive settings, plus cost engineering proficiency.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Engineering Management.
• Professional credentials such as CIPS, APICS/CPIM or PMI.
• Experience managing suppliers, contracts, Nigerian Content compliance and procurement governance.
• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle and asset integrity or maintenance planning.
