Estimator / Tender Engineer – Fire Protection at Future Concerns – Lagos
Future Concerns Fire Systems Limited is recruiting an Estimator / Tender Engineer in Lagos to prepare fire-protection tenders, bills of quantities and pricing.
Responsibilities
- Review tender drawings and specifications, seek clarifications and attend site surveys.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, bills of quantities and cost estimates for materials, labour and subcontract works.
- Request quotations and compare suppliers and subcontractors on equivalent terms.
- Complete technical and commercial tender packs and maintain tender registers and document control.
- Price contract variations, maintenance works and parts; keep the rates database current.
- Compare estimated costs with actual project costs and support improvements.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Three to five years of tendering or estimation experience in fire-fighting systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards and sprinklers, hydrants, pumps and fire-suppression equipment.
- Strong estimating, quantity take-off, cost-build-up and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings; estimating software skills are an advantage.
- High accuracy, organisation and ability to manage competing tender deadlines.
