Head of Hospital Administration via Dragnet Solutions Limited – Abuja
A healthcare organisation is recruiting a Head of Hospital Administration in Abuja.
What’s the role
- The Head of Hospital Administration is responsible for leading the hospital’s non-clinical administration functions, including facilities management, support services, regulatory compliance, and interdepartmental coordination. The role ensures that the clinical enterprise operates in a safe, compliant, and uninterrupted environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Direct the non-clinical administration function, including administrative services, health records, front office, catering, housekeeping, laundry, security, transport and general services.
- Own hospital facility and estate management: planned preventive maintenance, biomedical equipment servicing schedules, critical utilities (power, water, medical gases, HVAC), waste management, and building upkeep.
- Hold accountability for facility regulatory compliance — hospital registration and licensing, statutory inspections, professional-council facility requirements, fire safety, environmental and occupational health obligations — maintaining the compliance register and closing out findings to deadline.
- Design and govern interdepartmental workflows between clinical and non-clinical units, resolving handoff failures that disrupt patient flow or service delivery.
- Lead service contract and vendor management — scoping, service-level agreements, performance review, and renewal — in conjunction with procurement.
- Oversee environmental services and medical waste handling in conjunction with the infection prevention and control lead.
- Prepare and control the non-clinical operating and capital budget, and authorise expenditure within delegated limits.
- Lead emergency preparedness, business continuity, and disaster response planning for the facility, including the drill programme and corrective actions arising.
- Supervise, develop, and appraise administrative and support-services staff, and manage establishment levels against approved structure.
- Report facility, compliance, and support-service performance to executive management with improvement recommendations.
Requirements
- A relevant first degree in health administration, hospital management, business administration, public health, estate or facility management, or a related discipline. Completion of NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in hospital or healthcare administration, of which at least 4 years at senior or managerial level with responsibility for multiple support functions.
- Demonstrated experience of facility and estate management in a healthcare setting, including biomedical equipment and critical utilities. Experience of facility regulatory compliance and of preparing for and responding to statutory inspection.
- Experience of service contract and vendor management.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary administrative teams and managing operating budgets.
