Human Resources (HR) Assistant with Restaurant Experience at DISTRICT10 – Gwarinpa, Abuja

DISTRICT10 is recruiting a full-time HR Assistant with restaurant experience in Gwarinpa, Abuja. Reporting to the HR Manager or management, the role supports recruitment, staffing, records, employee relations and HR compliance in a busy hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment of chefs, service staff, cleaners, bartenders, cashiers, kitchen teams and supervisors; coordinate interviews, checks and offers.
• Maintain employee records, contracts, appointment letters and documentation relating to leave, transfers, promotions and exits.
• Monitor attendance, overtime, punctuality and shift-roster compliance, supplying verified records for payroll.
• Respond to routine HR enquiries, support staff welfare and escalate sensitive employee or disciplinary matters.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientations, workplace hygiene training and professional conduct guidance.
• Maintain training, warning, performance appraisal, disciplinary and incident records.
• Assist with staff benefits administration, salary-change records and HR policy compliance.
• Monitor recruitment speed, record accuracy, onboarding, attendance, employee relations and timely payroll submissions.

Requirements

• HND or bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field.
• One to three years of HR or administrative experience; prior restaurant, hotel or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
• Residence in Gwarinpa or nearby.
• Ability to manage staff rosters, confidential information, documentation and employee concerns with discretion.
• Competence with Word, Excel and office tools; knowledge of Nigerian employment law is advantageous.
• Strong organisation, communication, conflict resolution, integrity and multitasking skills.
• Willingness to work weekends or public holidays when required by the approved schedule.
