IP Core Senior Network Engineer at an Undisclosed Employer via Proten – Lagos
An undisclosed employer is recruiting a full-time, fully on-site IP Core Senior Network Engineer in Lagos through Proten International. The role supports a complex IP backbone network in a telecommunications, ISP or large-scale enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot BGP (eBGP/iBGP), OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS routing across network peers.
- Optimise network paths, peering and transit traffic, and implement quality-of-service controls.
- Monitor backbone performance, respond to faults and provide second-level technical support.
- Work with equipment vendors on incident investigation and resolution.
- Maintain network reliability and assist technical teams in a 24-hour operating environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, IT or a related networking discipline.
- At least ten years of IP network engineering experience in telecommunications, ISP or a large enterprise.
- Proven hands-on IP backbone administration and troubleshooting experience.
- CCNP or comparable OEM certification, with CCIE-level expertise in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS.
- Familiarity with Cisco IOS-XE, IOS-XR, Nexus, Huawei, Sophos and Layer 1/Layer 2 technologies.
- Strong independent problem-solving and availability to support a 24/7 operation.
