Laboratory Manager at LS Scientific Limited – Lagos

LS Scientific Limited is recruiting a full-time Laboratory Manager in Lagos to oversee Chemistry and Microbiology testing operations, technical quality and laboratory staff.

Laboratory leadership and quality

• Manage daily Chemistry and Microbiology laboratory work, resource scheduling, productivity and turnaround time.
• Supervise and train technical staff and ensure appropriate competency standards.
• Maintain quality management systems and testing procedures in line with ISO/IEC 17025 and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee method verification and validation, quality control, laboratory documentation and authorisation of reports.
• Manage internal and external audits, non-conformities, corrective actions and accreditation activities.

Resources, safety and commercial performance

• Ensure equipment maintenance, calibration and fitness for purpose.
• Monitor reagents, consumables, supplies and laboratory expenditure.
• Support budgets, cost control and service profitability while investigating client complaints.
• Work with commercial teams to develop laboratory services and maintain workplace safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry or a closely related science.
• Five to seven years’ laboratory experience, including at least three in a supervisory or management role.
• Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, laboratory QA, audits, method validation and accreditation requirements.
• Experience with analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, AAS, ion chromatography and titration systems.
• Strong leadership, technical reporting, commercial awareness, organisation and decision-making.
• Professional membership and relevant practising authorisation, where applicable, are advantages.
