Marine Engineer / Marine Engineering Instructor at an Undisclosed Company via HRLeverage Africa Consulting – Warri, Delta
An unnamed maritime training institute in Warri, Delta State, is recruiting a full-time Marine Engineer / Marine Engineering Instructor through HRLeverage Africa Consulting. The instructor will train seafarers in marine engineering practice and engine-room operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver practical and classroom teaching on marine engineering systems, marine diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, boilers and auxiliary machinery.
- Teach watchkeeping, engine-room maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Prepare teaching plans, course materials and assessments, and evaluate trainees’ competency.
- Supervise workshops and practical engine-room exercises while maintaining training equipment and records.
- Apply STCW, NIMASA, safety and quality requirements and support audits and ongoing course improvement.
Mandatory requirements
- A valid Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) / OOW Engine Certificate of Competency or a recognised equivalent maritime engineering qualification.
- Current STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate.
- Valid Train the Trainer (TTT) / Training, Teaching and Assessment (TTA) certification or equivalent.
- Current STCW-compliant medical fitness certificate.
- Three to five years of relevant sea-going experience as a Marine Engineer or Engineering Officer and proficiency in engine-room maintenance and troubleshooting.
Additional considerations
- Previous instructional work and further STCW credentials are advantages.
- Applicants holding Second Engineer or Chief Engineer CoC (Class 1), with substantial sea-going and teaching experience, may be considered for senior instructional duties.
Salary
Gross monthly pay: ₦500,000–₦600,000.
