Network Architect at Athena Institute of Business and Technology – Remote

Athena Institute of Business and Technology is recruiting a remote Network Architect to develop secure, resilient and scalable enterprise networking infrastructure.

Requirements and responsibilities

• Design enterprise network architectures, standards, specifications and implementation plans.
• Plan and optimise LAN, WAN, WLAN and data centre networking, including routing, switching, load balancing, VPNs and firewalls.
• Apply network segmentation, authentication controls and secure connectivity protections.
• Design for redundancy, failover, capacity, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Evaluate AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud network architectures where relevant.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, complex troubleshooting and network monitoring.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, documentation, configuration standards and operational procedures.
• Coordinate technology suppliers, cybersecurity, infrastructure and application teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Telecommunications Engineering, IT, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an equivalent related field; equivalent demonstrated technical experience may be considered.
• Five to eight years’ enterprise network engineering or infrastructure experience.
• Cloud architecture, network automation, Cisco/Juniper certifications, IaC, zero-trust or SASE expertise is advantageous.
