Penetration Testing Engineer at Athena Institute of Business and Technology – Remote

Athena Institute of Business and Technology is recruiting a remote Penetration Testing Engineer to conduct authorised security assessments, document vulnerabilities and help teams improve their defences.

Responsibilities and requirements

• Conduct approved network, web application, API, mobile and cloud penetration tests within defined engagement scopes.
• Perform vulnerability analysis, controlled attack simulations and checks against the OWASP Top 10.
• Validate weaknesses through manual and automated tools, analyse authentication, access controls and configurations.
• Document evidence, severity, impact and practical recommendations in technical reports.
• Coordinate remediation with IT and development teams and retest resolved findings.
• Maintain confidentiality, engagement records and responsible security-testing procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related computing or cybersecurity discipline, or equivalent demonstrable technical expertise.
• At least three to five years’ relevant experience; familiarity with Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Linux, scripting and cloud security.
• OSCP, PenTest+, CEH and experience in red teaming, container security or source code review are advantages.
