People Business Partner at Ultimum Limited – Aba, Abia State

Ultimum Limited is recruiting a full-time, on-site People Business Partner in Aba, Abia State. The position translates people strategy into practical initiatives across assigned business functions and supports leadership, workforce performance and positive employee relations.

Business partnership and workforce planning

• Advise functional leaders on workforce needs, organisational effectiveness, management capability and employee engagement.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, succession planning, retention, career development and internal mobility.
• Identify skills gaps and coordinate training and people-development interventions.
• Use workforce analytics and HR systems to support effective planning and decisions.

Culture, rewards and employee relations

• Drive values-led culture initiatives, employee recognition, wellbeing, inclusion and change management.
• Apply compensation, benefits, job grading and people policies consistently while improving employee experience.
• Manage employee relations, workplace investigations, grievances and disciplinary matters with confidentiality and fairness.
• Partner with union representatives and operational leaders on labour relations, collective agreements, dispute resolution and industrial harmony.
• Support audits, risk management, data integrity and compliance with applicable labour requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
• Seven to ten years of progressive HR experience, including at least three years in business partnering or strategic HR.
• Substantial experience in organisational development, performance management, workforce planning, industrial relations and complex employee matters.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, FMCG, supply chain or commercial operations, with food or beverage manufacturing exposure strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with HR information and applicant-tracking systems, reporting and people analytics.
• Strong influencing, coaching, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills; CIPM, SHRM, CIPD or related HR certification is preferred.
