Legal Government Relations Manager at an Undisclosed Company via Sisa Method Limited – Abuja

An undisclosed company developing the Ajaokuta Mini Project is recruiting a Legal Government Relations Manager in Abuja through Sisa Method Limited. The full-time role safeguards the company’s legal position across government approvals, commercial agreements, land and access matters, and project commissioning.

Regulatory compliance and government engagement

• Maintain a register of legal and regulatory obligations and track permits and approvals applicable to the project’s configuration and stage.
• Prepare and review regulatory filings and correspondence, liaising with federal, state and local authorities.
• Identify legal conditions and approvals required before commissioning, gas introduction and commercial deliveries.
• Maintain corporate governance records, delegated authorities, authorised signature lists and compliance schedules.

Contracts and legal risk management

• Draft, review and negotiate engineering, procurement and construction, installation, logistics, gas supply, offtake, land and service contracts.
• Advise on change orders, delays, cargo damage, non-performance, disputes and claims, working with external counsel when required.
• Support due diligence on land rights, access arrangements and wayleaves.
• Review community memoranda of understanding and corporate social responsibility commitments for legal implications.

Requirements

• LL.B and admission to the Nigerian Bar.
• At least seven years’ legal practice in a law firm or in-house role involving oil and gas, energy, infrastructure or construction.
• Experience drafting and negotiating EPC, supply, offtake and gas-related commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of Nigerian gas, land, environmental and corporate regulatory requirements.
• Experience engaging regulatory authorities and government agencies.
• Discretion, practical judgement, evidence-based reporting and strong communication skills.
