Pharmacy Technician at St. Dominic Catholic Hospital – Ibadan, Oyo

St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is recruiting a full-time Pharmacy Technician in Ibadan, Oyo State, to support safe and efficient dispensing, medicine storage and stock control. Working under a pharmacist’s supervision, the successful candidate will help maintain reliable pharmacy services and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the accurate preparation, labelling and dispensing of prescribed medicines under the pharmacist’s supervision.
• Receive and arrange pharmaceutical stock, maintain appropriate storage conditions and monitor expiry dates.
• Carry out stock counts, track medicine balances and assist with procurement and replenishment.
• Process prescriptions, keep dispensing and inventory records, and prepare routine pharmacy reports.
• Provide basic medicine information to patients within the role’s scope and maintain professional confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean pharmacy environment and contribute to medication safety and service-improvement activities.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies from a recognised institution.
• Relevant professional registration and a valid practising licence where applicable.
• Two to four years’ relevant experience in a hospital or community pharmacy is preferred; recent graduates with strong practical exposure may be considered.
• Understanding of medicines, dispensing procedures, documentation and inventory management.
• Strong accuracy, communication, customer service, teamwork and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when needed.
